I have a hypothetical question. In a straight run which is faster a Forester XT Auto or a Legacy GT Auto.

I think the legacy has a larger turbo VF40? so top end the LGT should come out on top...I think it also depends on wagon or sedan.

it should be pretty even considering the weight difference. I have driven both and I think the lgt might have a slight advantage. But then again, after i got into my stage 2 auto, the difference was huge.

Without mods the Legacy is faster. I think it has to do with the superiority of the 5eat vs. the 4eat in the Forester. The Legacy just takes off in sport mode.

If you're talking top speed then I'd be pretty confident saying the Legacy would be faster due to its lower ride height and better aerodynamics.

Top speed is identical when stock - both are governed at 130.

i have a legacy and it's around 137-139ish. some people to claim to be right about 140 for the legacy...

I had a stage 3.5 outback xt with only a VB mod done. Tranny was a tank till around 400 wheel torque.
