I installed this in my car over the weekend by doing the following:
-Reused my stock 02 clockspring
-swapped charge over to STi wheel
-removed my cruise control switch since it doesn't work with my swap anyways.

After I got everything back together the horn didn't work. I know it worked before and I know I didn't kill my clockspring while swapping because I kept it from spinning at all. I also used a puller to get the old wheel off so there's no chance I damaged it by hitting the wheel trying to get it to break loose.

Here is a pic of the switch I removed, can this be part of my problem?

From the wiring diagram, the Horn relay is used for both the Cruise activation on that steering wheel switch AND horn activation. So that 3 wire connector has a Green wire with red stripe on it that is not only used for the cruise, but that smaller single spade wire from it is used for the horn switch on the steering wheel.

Since you are not using the cruise and want the horn to work, you must connect pin 1 of the 3 wire connector to that spade lug connection.

YES that's the wire you want to run and connect.

You are using the CRUISE switch for the DRIVE-BY-WIRE system. It has the off/on on the stalk instead of the dash.

The older system ( throttle cable ) is a separate processor hence the separate controls. The Drive-by-wire system, the cruise processor is a co-processor in the ECU and controlled by the all-in-one switch on the steering wheel. This is also what causes the newer vehicles to DISABLE the cruise when a code is set in the ECU. They are both housed and ultimately controlled by the ECU micro-processor.

Yes that's exactly correct. From the green wire of the 3 wire connector to that ground tab. It's just that simple, forget all the rest of the mumbo-jumbo.

Rob, I just installed my 07 STI wheel today.
The horn works through the cruise switch as posted above.
I ended up cutting the connectors off both and using the old cruise connector with the 07 cruise switch. It is 5 wires on the DBW one and 3 on the old oneo, they use the same color wiring so just match them up and leave the 2 extra wires for the DBW stuff alone.
