99% sure they are the same. That's always been the weak spot of the XT; a lot more velocity but no improvements anywhere else, unless you count a pound or two per corner from the alloys.

It should be a 20mm (if you get the sedan one) instead of the FXTs 17mm.

I have one on my '98, and it was night and day, but I started with a 13mm.

You might do better to find the STI RSB, with the appropriate hardware. Should be a nice change of pace.

But it should fit right? I traded in my car with an upgraded Cusco sway bar and have the rear stock bar in my closet. Wasn't going to throw it away and would like to put it to good use. And yes it's the sedan RSB.

the WRX rear sway bar will not work.

it is 2" too short for proper fit on an 06 Forester

the rear sway bar (OEM 17.3mm) on the 2006 Forester is the same as 05...
and 04... and 03....

with this setup, the optimum swap is to the STi 20mm rear bar ;)

we have a kit for that :D

cheers,

Jamie Thomas

I came across a set (front and rear) of STi sway bars. I know that swapping out just the rear inproves feel but what if I also installed an STi front sway bar? What would installing both a front and rear have on handling?

Yeah I measured mine and the front is 21mm. I have a 21mm Cusco set to the middle setting and Perrin mounts in the rear and it feels good. I just have to find some bolts for the Helix links and the rear setup will be complete.

Here's a comparison:

Yes the sti is 20 front and 20 rear

Forester is 21mm front and 17.3mm rear

i would leave the front bar as is
add the rear bar and call it good.

this will create a very neutral handling ride.
very predictable. very controllable.
