I need to acquire a fully catted downpipe (OEM) for my 04 FXT so that I can pass emissions in California and came across a 2007 STI downpipe for a good price.
Has anyone tried mating these up?
Has anyone in California mated an STI exhaust to an FXT and cleared smog?

I have also come across a 2005 STI exhaust. Will this mate up?

Thanks!

A stock downpipe is made up of 2 pieces, I think both have cats in them. Do you have both pieces? As long as you have the whole thing it should fit, it's when you try to piece a full downpipe together from different year pieces that you may run into issues. I think around '06 is when they made one piece longer than the other.

I have my stocker in the garage somewhere, you are welcome to borrow it for the smog test.

Thank Stan, but they note the cat serial numbers. If it was safe/easy to swap-in-out with a loaner, I would have taken my buddy's already. Looking for a longer-term solution. I think I found an 05 fxt, so I'm just going to gamble with that.
