HI all, I have an 04 auto XT and swapped an 06 4eat into it as a replacement for the blown oem trans. We supposedly swapped to the newer ration rear differential also but now that's humming like a barbershop quartet after 15k miles.

Which rear do I need to look for for the next replacement? We also had to cut/weld the rear axles to fit the 05+ mounts tot he 04 wheel joints-that worked out well actually. Thanks!

Not 100% sure about the 06, but I know people who XT swapped SG's recommended bringing the XT drivetrain along because the N/A 2.0/2.5 drivetrain couldn't hack the torque. I'd be looking for an XT/STI transmission. Doesn't much matter what final drive ratio you have - as long as ratio is the same between front and rear differentials.

Thanks, the 04 had unique ratios, shorter and quicker-I could actually feel it. I just need a rear and can't recall if the XT was the same ratio as XS, X.
