Ive recently noticed I'm losing all heat unless the engine is as 2K RPM or higher.
Engine at operating temp
Heat on auto
COLD outside.

Once I rev it up the heat gets nice and toasty.
The water pump was repalced 40k ago and Ive noticed an oil leak developing on top of the drivers side bank that I think is a HG leaking externally.
Any ideas?

Air in the heater core?

I was wondering if the heater core could be getting gunked up and restricting coolant flow, or if the pump is getting weak?? If it is air in the core how would you clear that?

What is your coolant level as seen in the radiator cap?

Check the water level INSIDE the radiator when the engine is off and cooled down. I bet its not full.

Yep low coolant. Why didn't it draw from the recovery tank? It looked full and maybe a little overfull
