Nice looking Forester. I just purchased a Crystal White Sport.

  • Are the center/vent covers from Amazon? Do they add any bulk since they are overlays?
  • Did you wrap the lower fenders yourself? Looking to delete the orange on the fenders and roof rack pillars.
Thanks

Where did you get the exterior pieces? That thing looks awesome! And what of that intake? Where did you come across that? I've had a similar vision in my head on my 20 forest sport "Sportress"

Thanks! The white was my 2nd choice - so nice work! I often see 'murdered out' vehicles, so I wanted to go with the silver CF on the trim. It almost looks like white at times, and I don't mind it one bit. I wanted my Forester to look different than others around town.

-Yes the covers are from Amazon. They do add a little bit of bulk, and you can kinda still see a sliver of orange at certain angles, but it's not enough to stand out or complain about.
-I did wrap the lower trim myself. It took way too long because the top line has a recession to kinda tuck behind, but the bottom line doesn't. Going from my black paint to silver trim made any imperfection stick out like a sore thumb. I plan to do the rack pillars as well, but I ran out of time and weather hasn't been permitting.

Thank you! I found those exterior carbon fiber door pillar pieces on eBay. I believe I ordered the intake off the company website - AEMintakes.com. I had to order 2019 because they don't have selection for '20, even though it's the same.

What color is your Sportress?

Sportress is crystal black silica. At 1st I didn't like all the Orange piping on the outside and the little Orange bits at the vents and around the gear shift. I almost went with the white limited but the sport just seemed more like what I wanted Plus the sport has a few things that no other package offers. Now though the Orange interior is kind of growing on me. And I guess the Orange on the exteriour is been growing on me for quite a while I kind a like it it is unique. I'm debating now on whether or not to go the carbon fiber bits on the inside or not. Not sure where she will end up but she will be fun.

Right on man. I almost went with the White myself, but knew I couldn’t go wrong with the Black sport haha. I’ve always had the mod bug, so I enjoy having a vehicle that subtly stands out above the rest.
I don’t mind the orange, but I love Carbon Fiber appearance so decided to cover mine up.
Cheers!

This. Is. So. Awesome.

Seriously, I love this. I have a Premium in CBS and I'd love to do this. I'm leasing right now but probably will not buy out at the end of it - and I think I know exactly what I'm doing to the next one, be it a Forester again or an Outback XT!

Thanks! I think it turned out pretty good. I’m leasing myself, but everything I have done is reversible. I like my Sport enough to buy it out at the end, but that could easily change in 3 years!?

To be honest if my car had Lane Centering which debuted in the 20’s I would have to consider it. But I just see myself missing that feature and it would annoy me for the next 10 years.

I’m considering changing the silver/chrome “wing” on the front grille to the sport black one.

Heard that. I had a '17 Tacoma that I enjoyed, but I'm very happy with the decision on our Forester with the Eyesight Safety features and all that our truck lacked.

Are you thinking of replacing your grill with a factory Sport grill, or plasti dipping/vinyl wrapping your's instead?

I'm not sure. The wing piece itself is only around $100, and if it can be done myself I guess I would do it with the OEM piece. But, I also really like what you did with the Sport Grille accessory, so if I went that route I'd probably want to do the whole thing including the bezel. That's a tough call for another day, I guess.
