Mod goals! Nice rig man. How is the smittybuilt tent in terms of quality? Also, how has the 2" lift affected EyeSight if at all?

Thanks.

Great build!
Car looks awsome and with very good proportions.
Did you have to re-adjust the eyesite system?

What color orange did you use? It does not look like a direct match to the orange accent pieces, but hard to tell.

How noisy are those tires compared to stock? You really need to drop a LeChute axle back muffle onto that beast. :)(y)

Awesome. Can you show it from the front or front-side?

I think it’s just the lighting. Sometimes the orange looks partly red

Looks nice. Never understood painting skidgear unless only a suburban mall-hopper though. If they aint mangled and rusted, they aint being used right, heh. ;)

Thanks for listing rooftop tent gear. I've been meaning to research mounting gear more. :)

The Smittybuilt tent is well worth the $650 I paid. Got the tent on sale with free shipping. Had to wait 3 months due to back order. Would recommend this item for the price. Even at the full price of $750, it is a good buy. The mattress is not very good, so I added a foam mattress topper pad. I don't think any of the other well known brands offer that much more for the extreme difference in price. Wanted to purchase a Gordi-Gear brand roof-top tent but could not swing the $1600 price tag. In my opinion, Gordi-Gear has the best tent for under $2000.

Eyesight system seems to be unaffected by the lift. No noticeable difference so far.

Eyesight system is stock. Operates as expected. No noticeable differences so far.

Tried to match the powder coat to the orange/red Sport trim however it did not come out exact. Used powder color RAL2002. Looks more like Crosstrek or KTM orange.
Painted the calipers with Duplicolor brand paint, color "Chevy Orange". That color is pretty close, but the factory orange/red trim looks different at times depending on the lighting and angle.

The tires make less road noise than you would expect. Even at highway speed the noise is negligible.

Yes, I agree.
I tried to get a paint code color for a better match, but none was available.
None of the Subaru factory orange Sport colors actually match each other. The interior orange stitching does not exactly match the interior plastic trim. The exterior orange plastic body trim does not exactly match the roof rail orange trim. None of them match each other.

Powder coated the guards mostly for fashion, also prevents oxidation, keeping it looking new for longer.
My wife would blow a gasket if I actually did some four-wheeling with it. She has never had a brand new car before.
I will have to stick to the two wheel method of off-road adventuring for now.

Had some mounting issues with the tent.
Check out the thread for more info on mounting the tent to the Thule crossbars.

First of all.. luvd your rig.. phewwww... thats like my dream destination for my sport.

I had a question about the warranty.

The standard answer i get even from subaru is.. that if anything that becomes faulty is due to the modification, then we are not covered but otherwise we are covered...

For example.. the lift and heavier tires both can impact the transmission.. in a year, if transmission has an issue, wont they directly link it to the mods n decline the warranty?

For all the mods you have performed, do you know what are the warranty implications? Or you just dont care about it?? :D . I have taken the extended warranty so it becomes even more difficult to take a decision to do things that voids the warranty.

Can you have a dealer install the lift and put in writing that it won’t affect the warranty?

I asked my dealer same question. They said they have a 2 inch lift kit approved by Subaru that they must install that will eliminate any warranty problems if they come up in the future. They pitched my a lift, all terrain tires, and labor all-in for “a little less than $5,000.”

U r a lucky dog. I think if the LP aventure dealership is ur subaru dealership, then you have no concerns.. others dont accept it.. my biggest concern is - am in Vancouver n the closest LP aventure dealership is the Subaru in cranbrook 800 kms away from me..
