Quebec = no emissions testing. Shop claimed that since the problem appeared months later = not their fault.
Given what happened, I do suspect the main tank vent. Not going there!

Anybody ever have the main fuel tank vent valve on top of the tank go bad? I will aim to reassemble the EVAP system with a replacement valve but want to be sure that tank valve is OK first

Thanks Techmod . working thought is purge valve but now i may have ruined the charcoal canister . we'll try also and push a bit of air through some of the hoses to clear them.

Another fix would be to put header wrap on OTHER things around, like around that rubber hose junction, to protect those bits from the heat.

But yeah, I don't want to put header wrap on every oil...
