Yep, a lift on Subaru's does nothing for the ability of running larger tires. All the lift does is push down the strut from the body, giving you added ground clearance, but not clearance for tires...

Probably not a scam, but just not a site someone wants to put the effort into. I'd recommend just calling Jackie at Annapolis Subaru (site vendor on here). She usually has the best prices around.
