I'd get the alternator tested. I've seen this warning light combo on more than one Subie, and it seems to be indicative of alternator issues every time.

Would you still buy any car then? Because that's what most manufacturers spec these days for consumption. Some Audi/VW models even specify that up to 1 qt./600 miles is permissible.

CEL, VDC and CC lights always come on together for safety reasons. What were the exact codes, though? Without that info it's anyone's best guess as to what might be causing an issue.

Any records of the timing belt service? It should have been done around 105k, and should include replacement not just of the belt, but all idlers, tensioner, and water pump, at a minimum.
