DPT vs D-Force

Thanks for the suggestions and i appreciate the respect for my choices!

These wheels will be for aesthetics and fitment so im looking for offset and width.

I will be buying quality lightweight 17" wheels for performance purposes...

Arthrogrian19 Of the wheels listed above, I like the DPTs the best.

However, if my budget were ~$1,000, I wouldn't be shopping for Rotas. I'd be looking at Prodrive, OZ, Enkei, etc. I've had two sets of Prodrive wheels for less than $1k (one new set, one mint set).

I don't know if you like these, but:

OAKOS Automotive - STi & WRX Performance Parts: Enkei RPF1 Wheels (18x7.5", 5x100) Silver (CLEARANCE... Save $137!!)

OAKOS Automotive - STi & WRX Performance Parts: Enkei NT03+M Wheels (18x7.5", 5x100) Silver

OAKOS Automotive - STi & WRX Performance Parts: Prodrive GT1 Wheels (18x7.5", 5x100, +48mm) Matte Anthracite, 2004 STi (Save $116!!)

OAKOS Automotive - STi & WRX Performance Parts: Prodrive GT1 Wheels (18x7.5", 5x100), Gloss Black (Save $116!!)

Unless it's purely for aesthetics, there isn't a need to go wider than 8", and you can still fit a 235 or 245 tire. I hope I'm not throwing a wrench in the works, since I know that buying wheels is a very personal decision.

fourortwowheels I like the DPTs but I am totally biased. The Mach Awesome are really nice too, reason Im drawn to those to wheels, they seem to be the lightest for cast wheels.

sooblover Holy chit! That looks amazing lol. Thanks man! Id probably get the gunmetal color now hearing that the hyperblack tends to have problems. The flat black tends to make the wheel look even smaller, IMO.

Plus the gunmetal looks like it could closely match the Urban Grey Metallic accents on my car...

adizon Ok Sooblover did a quick chop, not perfect but gives you the idea, personally not a fan of the Hyper Black on this wheel. I like the flat black on this wheel best. I think it's the spoke design how it's just so round, black hides this better, and still retains the fat lip look!

anyways here you go:

Not sure, if it was for aesthetics, I ususally photoshop things like this to get me an idea of what it could look like. So hard to say as I've never scene the D-Forces on a Foz before?

DPT vs D-Force

^ thank you sir. Vital information!

I knew the d-force weight, i did NOT know the DPT weight. Surprised they are that much lighter...

Normally this would make the decision for me since im a function > form guy BUT these will only be show/profiling wheels.

I will be getting lightweight 17in wheels for track/auto-x/mountain use.

So weight isnt too important for the 18s i end up choosing...

Thanks again tho!

adizon Hey bro, for what its worth I found this info, thought it maybe helpful in your decision:

D-Force = 24.1lbs.

DPT's = 20.9 lbs.

both in 18"x9.5"

S2-13BT I know it's been done a lot, but I guess it's for a reason... They look great!!

Rota DPT FTW!!!

Or go genuine ce28's if they're available to suit. Hard to argue with the value of a Rota though.

I'm planning to go DPTs at some point too, but haven't even lowered my Foz yet, so after that. So I guess it's a biased opinion. :)

sooblover threw another option into the ring:

Mach V 18x9.5 Wicked Awesome - Wheels

would be more expensive but...

Too bad I can't update/edit the poll.

sooblover ^^ way to make my decision MORE difficult!

lol, nah thanks so much for the heads up. I'd have to go with gunmetal on the D-Force then. I dunno what on the DPT...

JUNKYARDGABE I would steer clear of the hyper black rota has a lot of issues with the coating staying on the rims.I have had two sets of grids in hyper black and both sets started shedding the hyper black coating in less than a year

DPT vs D-Force vs Wicked Awesome

Another "Help me, I can't decide" thread... Sorry.

The DPT is super awesome and sexy and is a replica of the beautiful Volk ce28, one of my all-time-favorite wheels.
It's also very popular and has been done many times before...

I would get it in 18x9.5 +44 and use a 5mm spacer to make it +39. Color would be Hyper Black. Tires will be 245/40-18.

18x9.5 Rota DPT - Hyper Black (5x100x114.3/e44/73) - Professional wheel dealer.

The D-Force is a relatively rare wheel (only available through Mach V) and looks great with lots of lip and "dimensions". The only thing is that it tends to look smaller than it actually is because of the way the spokes plunge back inward.

I would get 18x9.5 +40. I think this size is perfect for looks AND function on a wheel this size. Color also Hyper Black. Same tire size as above.
I am leaning towards this one because I hardly see it and have NEVER seen it on a Forester...

Rota D - Wheels

"Help me, I can't decide"

EDIT: I wanna throw another one into the ring...:

Mach V 18x9.5 Wicked Awesome - Wheels in gunmetal with a 3mm spacer
