Superacerc Since ive had the sti suspension on I've had a clunk on my driver's side suspension. Only happens when i hit bumps. Not while turning or anything else.

At first i thought it was because i slotted the holes too much. I took it off filled it back in with new plate and weld and the clunk still is there. Dont make fun of my welding skills. I'm no professional.

Next i took the endlinks off and drove it around to confirm its not that. It wasn't.

Tierod is nice and tight and i get no noise from turning wheel with engine off (no power steering).

Down to lower ball joint or clackety CV joint. picking up the ball joint from the stealership in a few minutes before catching my float plane to a job site. (Anyone interested in a picture of that). Lovely views.

Hopefully that solves it. If not it might be a bad CV hinge clanking. In that case ill probably wait till i get the new tranny and axles.

Ahh well, on the tranny. Ull get it...itll give u more time to enjoy that susp.

Superacerc Sad news. My tranny funding didnt come through. Relisted lol. When it or my motorcycle sells ill get a tranny.

Superacerc Timing and psi. Ray will probably bring it in as early as possible youcan ask him if he can squeeze any more low wastegate out to get it there quicker but i imagine he has it set for pretty much full duty cycle off the line untill it responds and he pulls back. i never had success roasting tires on e85 and 18g with my michelins and warm roads. Id slip a little but nothing super crazy.

FXTerrific Do u and @nate_fisher think my Blouch 18g can be brought in sooner/more aggressive and not run into tranny problems (I imagine that's the first spot to die with a less linear TQ curve?). Seeing how I never launch it, just loooove to roll into the throttle hard...could a 41lb/min turbo pack to much punch down low? I guess id have to share a pick to show where I'm at....just wondering if there's anymore grunt. I don't used the up top really, esp with fueling as is...but I'm not afraid to roll into it quick at like 2.5k

But id imagine ray has it where its actually "correct". It spools quick I feel, but listening to u two I just wanna roast em sometimes. Is that just a matter of more psi in general?

Superacerc Thats a good tip. Hadnt thought of that. Learn something new every day. I like boost as much as possible if i can get the grip. Hopefully the 255 tures will help next summer. And the limited slip diffs.

nate_fisher You can do it by lowering the requested torque in each gear to close the throttle there a couple guys on romraider that do it that way. I have never tried it personally as i like high boost in the lower gears to get a good launch and the load of the gearing lowers it anyway. I hit 28 psi in 3rd but will only hit 25 psi in 1st anyway.

Superacerc Essentially yes. Although on cobb you can only tune boost down or up on gear 1. At least thats the only 1 ive found you can do. Helps make 1st useable.

this makes me scared, lol. mine needs to taper pretty quickly once above 5500 in this winter weather. i should just get injs and let her roar...but having fun learning about additional setups like this hybrid stuff.

so what youre saying is mbc could be set to say 20 so its delivered as fast as the turbo can get there say rolling into throttle or initially in wot? and then ebcs can come in once in prolonged open loop and cut down the psi at a certain rpm/gear combo?

sorry to beat a dead horse, but both you guys have probably learned that about me. your unending patience has always helped me, lol.

Superacerc Good explanation Nate. I have my grimmspeed as welland could always switch back but for the moment i have no intentions to.

I think the 6 speed letting me cruise at lower rpm will be beneficial with the mbc and keeping out that part throttle boost but i really dont see any of that currently driving around 55-60mph.

nate_fisher There are positives and negatives for both units. I will start with the mbc it has lightning fast responce and will spool up faster and once it hits it will just stay at the set boost level until the turbo out flows and tapers (does not happen to me) on its own with out any fluctuation. The draw backs are if not careful you can get partial throttle full boost while still in open loop fueling but is easily stopped by driving habits. Also what you set it to is what it is no way to taper the boost on larger turbos which can be bad if you run out of fueling. The 3 port will allow you to taper boost as neeeded and allow for boost by gear which is tuned by the requested torque per gear tables. By going hybrid you can get the fast responce of the mbc but the versitilty of the 3 port for tapering and open loop boost transition. I dont really need that i just want fast spool and to hold boost but i left my 3 port attached and hooked up still and is only 2 hoses to swap back seeing how my car is still tuned for it.

Superacerc Yes it would if you want to keep it exact. Not a big deal though. Each click on this one is .25 psi. I'm not worried about fluctuations too much.
