Unhappy Boom! Head Shot...thanks NYPD

I was coming to an intersection and the light turned green I get my nose out into the intersection and boom...cause the back quarter panel/bumper of a cop car blowing the light...

He gets out going didnt you see flashing lights? So I explained that there was a white sedan to the left of me and a little in front that slammed on her brakes, she blocked my left vision...since we had the green I wasn't looking through her car...she was able to see in time and slammed on the brakes, I hit them a bit later but it was too late he was already in front of me...

Sergeant was trying to say they were still in the green and I jumped the light...then when we gave all our stories he tried saying I couldn't control my vehicle and came skidding trying to stop...I was a tad offended because I run RE01R's man...oh well $500 deductable and a nice little set back in modding

Edit...thought I typed "shot" in the header...guess Im in a bit of a bad mood and wrote something else..

Gotta love cops... one ran a red near my high school and annihilated my friend's van and wouldn't fess up to it.. but the other cop who wrote the report could tell he was lying through his teeth and the copgot 100% at fault. HEH suckaaa

Not all cops are bad of course... my best bud is one and besides being slightly metrosexual, he's cool as hell. Hahaha

If the officer is going to be running red lights, he needs to have his siren on.

Default nope

In my home town (which is small) it is my understanding that emergency vehicles can only go 10 mph over the speed limit with Lights and Sirens on (My fater was a Fire Chief). I was talking to a police officer and he stated that contrary to popular belief they are not legally allowd to exsessively speed due to being a dangerous situation for civilians. Red lights are only allowd with lights a sirens on.

Don't think they can but I don't wanne bet on it. We had a problem over here with the ambulance only using lights and not sirene and the cops said that ambulances can't do that, only cops can. How stupid that sounds.

Bloomingdale/Service Road S...I didn't really mind the accident, they happen...the cop driving was VERY young and nervous and the older guy was talking to me calm, the sergeant got me a little upset cause I could see he was looking for a way to pin it on me...first he started with the I jumped the light, but if that was true why didn't he smash my driver side? The cop was through a red light, hence why mine turned green and I started moving...I mean why else did the cop ask me if I saw the lights flashing?

I couldn't because there was a car already in the intersection a little in front of me but she had the better view cause she was out in front and could hit the brakes, by the time I hit them I already had my nose in front of her...

Then he tried saying I skidded to a hault, the light had just turned green seconds ago...I was maybe moving 8 mph...no skidding..the cops had a call and put the lights on, I couldn't see due to a car taking up the left lane...and "ish" happens...we both sorta had the right of way, my light was green...he had lights on...already spoke with Geico they said no matter what if the car has lights and sirens they have the right of way I just couldn't do anything about it. Just glad I wasn't further out and got my driver side crushed.

that's total BS they should have had the sires on and they should have at least slowed down or yielded at the light. And why didn't they have the deal that changes the lights anyway? Sorry to see your car damaged, but look at it this way you could have gotten further into the intersection before the impact so I'd consider myself lucky that you weren't T-boned and seriously hurt.

That sucks. But if it was an intersection I would belive having sirenes on is vitale so all cars know they are coming. If they don't it's hard for people to stop when the only thing they are aware of is the green or red light.

I once met a guy who worked for the most notorious tabloid newspaper in Boston. He told me that this typo was the very largest concern of their headline writers. And the two keys are adjacent on the keyboard.

Are you going to go through your insurance? You might want to talk to an agent and ask what options you have. If it's worth it to you you might be able to take him to court.
