in street tuner it is the "throttle duty cycles" table

in romraider it is the "requested torque" table

take note of the bottom line

I just leave the data alone and raise the rpm at which it occurs

In my case the nasty dip occurs at 3.5K, would this also help? I will not tune it myself but I want to understand what a tuner would do to fix it. I have not yet decided who will tune my car but I want to understand as many aspects prior to the tune, I don't want to have a copy and paste tune...or have him shrug-off his shoulders either...

What parameters would allow you to see what's out of whack?, let me know I want to get some use of my Can Bus Tactrix OP2.0

have your tuner look in2 the fueling down low. the stock tune runs extremely lean during the ol/cl delay!

could be boost related also, see if your overshooting your targets!

I hope sometime I too can overlay this one with a vf39 chart. .......I'm hoping with a protune getting the A/F mix set right, I could pull a few more ponies...
Well the day has come. I went to the tuner to get my protune now that i have a vf39 installed. I'm hooked on the power now! I put my self into street mod for autox'ing. I have some interesting maps to share. I have one where the cobb vf39 map is in comparison to a daily drive vf39 protune map. Then the second is the daily drive map compared to an autox tune. He said its still safe for the street but he gave it a little more boost. I don't have a boost map to show but I asked for all the logs during the tuning session. So once i sort that out I'll post that up. One issue though, he said there was a lot of knock correction going on. So he had pull some timing out of the map and that I should check the plugs, knock sensor and see if I can find anything wrong. Other than that he said i could get an extra 10 horse if i lose the cat. I'll think about that...

Summary on pwr modzzz:
STI UpPipe
Ported VF39
STI TMIC (I knife edged where the hose meets the aluminum pipe)
TurboXS w/highflow cat matted up to a 3" maddad whisper
Sti restrictor pill
3/16 vacuum coupling to boost controller
Walbro fuel pump

CobbVF39 map compared to Protune Daily Driver tune.

Protune Daily Driver Tune vs AutoX tune. The log showed 17.5 peak boost for daily driver tune and 19.5 for autox tune.

Now if i can get the power to come on a little sooner. Here's what i'm thinking for that:
-Ditch the cat
-Light weight crank pully.
-Ported sti manifold or aftermarked headers.
-Lighter rims/tires for autox

Any other suggestions?

FXTRunner, confused as to which cat you're still pimp'in there. If you're running the up-pipe and turboxs setup...

Anyway, rock on for another SM guy, yes, you'll love the power. The STi manifolds make a noticable difference on top end, though the 3,200RPM kick you're seeing there will smooth out some. Definitely a worthy trade off though.

I'd start worrying about tranny while shooting over 300lbft though...especially if you're going to run stickies for auto'xing.

The only cat is the turboxs high flow cat. The sti uppipe got rid of the pre-cat.

True on the tranny. I feel like i'm walking on egg shells now. I'll just have to keep my shifting smooth... I don't think my clutch is going to last too much longer.

Yea, my clutch doesn't like hard launches either. If I try to feed it out above a 4K launch, it'll just slip the whole way up.

Haven't gotten around to it, but there is a clutch restrictor pill. You can do a search on this forum for clutch restrictor and find info. Might be another mod to consider...

Thumbs up

Here's my contribution, 08 FXT Sports 5MT 6500 miles, Green filter drop-in and the STI cbe. I think my results are in line with some other's?!
Approx. 170hp/205tq

Let me know if the graphs look fine?

For comparison, stock 08 STI put down around 200hp/225tq on this dyno. My near stock Acura (AME CAI and 3rd cat delete) 240hp/215tq.

I'd like around 250hp/tq for the Forester, I'm new to Subaru and turbo so any suggestions are welcomed ;) Thanks

Coming from the Honda/Acura scene, the Forester's low rpm torque is abundant as is but the hp seem to be lacking methinks. I had the opposite going on in my 05 Acura TL 6MT where from the get go there was little torque and the car was easy to stall w/o giving it lots of gas lol Honda/Acura high rpm thrust is another story of course...

^^that just goes to show how dynos can vary so much even if they are the same brand of Dyno. Stock STI's on the Dyno Dynamics I was tuned on put down 240 whp.

Agreed, there is a ton of variation and that's why it's best to stick to one place.

I mostly went to see whether my forester is healthy or not since I got it used and of course to get the baseline for the future. The owner/dyno guy of the shop, Rob, said he sees 150whp/200wtq in stock late model WRXs on his dyno.

not that this is a Forester, but its a legacy, with a lot less mods than my forester, but ran close to the same 1/4 miles times on the stock turbo

Old dyno sheet on LGT before the 3" cat back

Its down 12 hp and up 18 tq on the forester(peak numbers)
