Not until they release a package, and if they do even. The fxt project might be no interest for them anymore.

Remember, they make the most money off of selling AccessPorts.... 650 a pop... plus get you to use their maps... etc etc.

If you aren't upgrading, you aren't trying.

How many XT owners actually buy a brand new AP? Very few, I assure you. It is a lot of work for COBB to test and certify every model they support, even if the '17 is identical they'd still need to obtain the car and test it.

They've been wanting to dump support for XT since 2007. Even going by posts here, it's clear modifying XTs has gone down in popularity since those times.

Most people will probably not buy the AP from COBB directly.

Stan
i think everyone with a 2014+ XT did (well, you know what i mean...only 10% didnt compared to only 10% did like on previous models)...since its different model AP then the one i use.

but yea, like Stan said... itll take some time...since theyll have to test everything again. or you could skip the guesswork, and save yourself some hassle at the same time. buy it + protune.

i spoke with cobb and they said the same thing to me. according to them the computer is different in the 2017's so they have to come out with a new firmware update on the access port and do some testing

Hopefully October stays as the ETA. I've got my '17 coming, due end of October, early November, and I'm keeping my AP from my '15.
While Cobb support for the XT may not seem to be a priority (because it isn't, the forester has always been the red-headed step-child to the WRX), they did take care of the issue with the recall earlier this year. We won't ever see a Stage 2 base tune, but if you are going that route, get it pro-tuned (and worry about your CVT - I have personal experience to light mods possibly causing issues.)

Even if it is only 1000 FXTs that use the AP (and whatever percent buys new APs), that's still worth it for Cobb to get a loaner '17 to develop/test a new firmware on. It shouldn't be something they would need to start from scratch on, even if it is different from the '16 ECU, there will be a lot that is the same.

It would be nice for @COBB Tuning to chime in though...

I want Cobb too, but can't believe a safe stage 1 voids warranty. Manufacturers need to provide their own tunes if that's the case.
