You have a manual transmission right? If you go too big on the turbo with the 4eat and leave the torque converter stock, you will hurt off the line acceleration, instead of improving it.

IIRC, the 04 and 05's have a different final drive, makes for quicker acceleration. 2006 was the year the uppipe went catless, so you would think that might offset it somewhat. But by the road tests, the 04-05's seemed quicker, so the final drive may well be the reason.

I'm guessing the catless uppipe makes the 06+ Stage2 FXTs a bit quicker than the stg2 04/05s

^^I consider the uppipe part of the 04/05 stage 2 plan. Its one of the first things that needs to be addressed.

Final drive is the same on manual.

The numbers disagree. The 04-05's usually get better times. Can't tell you why.
Still the catless UP is nice. Adds reliability and helps spool, but aftermarket UP's have shown improvements over decatted units and OE equipment.

I would say that they are nearly identical to 60. The VF-39 would win the 1/4 mile, but to 60, the better driver wins. Check Vortmax's posts on the 1/4 mile thread.

Any comments to how this correlates to the 4EAT?

Obviously launch will never be as good as with the manual, but beyond that...

I haven't ran the 1/4 in my stage 2 4EAT, but from looking at the posted 1/4 mile times, user 06fxt05lgt;s 4EAT with stage 2 mods ran 13.955 with a 1.944 60' time.

Estimating backwards based on cars with similar 1/4 times, I'd put the 0-60 in the mid 5-second range (a two second improvement over stock 4EAT if you are to believe the 7.6 second stat listed on the Australian Subaru site).

From a stop, this would put it about even with the stock 5MT.

Comments?

Yeah, but it's extremely bad for the transmission... and to my knowledge still has not been shown to best the 5MT.

I'm guessing that my stock 04 EAT ran around 6" in 0-60 and now at stage 2(shorty catted down) maybe does 5.5ish to 60. It would blow away my stock 97 M3 auto.

How good are those clip on G force meters?

SVXs, they're history...and the 04 FXT PP 8')
