simple quick question, would an 04 fxt 5 speed clutch work with a 07 fxt 5 speed?
Answer to this question here:
For an 06-08 FXT -
His answer, just incase anyone else needs this info:
They are in fact different. You need a 2006-10 WRX style clutch. Push type.
The difference in push or pull type is how the release bearing disengages the disc. One style pulls on the release bearing, One style pushes on it.[/B]
from what I have researched, no i don't think it will. However, this is one of those subject that is about 50/50 on this site with half saying it will and half saying it won't and no real answer anywhere. I could only find one website, that actually listed them as being different...your best bet would be to call jackie and ask her to check the part numbers.
this needs to be a sticky, because I spent at least 10 hours trying to find out which clutch would work for MY 06-08, and I couldn't find anything that said for sure. and here we have 3 post in a row that say definitively what works and what doesn't.
I stand corrected, it turns out my transmission database was incorrect.
Subaru switched to push-type clutches on all turbo cars in MY06 with some MY05 units in other models making the switch ahead of time (ie. LGT)
The quick way to determine your clutch type is to look at the clutch slave mounting position.
this def needs to be stickied lol. i put it in bold and underlined the important parts. maybe rename the title 'what style clutch is needed for your FXT?'
