SUMO Transmission Sleeve Kit (TSK) Install
Below is a picture write-up I did of Sumo's Transmission Sleeve Kit (TSK). Our Subaru transmissions have an aluminum extension that protrudes from the case that the throwout/clutch release bearing rides on. During use and over many miles, this extension (or shaft as I refer to it as), gets marred up with pits, grooves and scores. I was getting noise and slight roughness in the clutch pedal travel. I obtained this kit as a fix.
After the install, I can say that the noise has decreased by a fair amount, and the pedal engagement is MUCH smoother than I could have ever hoped for. I installed a new clutch 10,000 miles prior to this, but was still getting noise and rough pedal travel. Installed this kit along with a new clutch kit and flywheel.
Results have been absolutely great. Much better clutch pedal feel, extremely smooth and I haven't noticed hardly any of the noise I was getting before.
Below is the picture write-up. Very straight forward install. Once you are done and have the transmission mated back up with the engine, you just pump the clutch until normal pedal feel comes back (took me about 20-25 pumps of the clutch).
