Hey - on my base model 1999 manual, when I accelerate out of first gear there is a squeaking noise. Can't tell if it is metal or rubber, but once I hit 15-10 mph it goes away. Doesn't happen in reverse. Car seems to be running fine otherwise. Any thoughts? Thanks!

squeaky noise

Didn't see any replies to this and was wondering if you ever solved your problem. Mine does the same thing at slow speeds when turning left mostly. I can't tell if it's rubber or metal either... but sounds more like rubber to me. I don't see anything rubbed under there and I can't get the noise when I jack the car of the ground and turn the wheels. CV's seem to be good, no play and no ripped boots. No bearing play or grinding. Had one of the mechanics at work try to listen where it was coming from while I was backing up in circles but he got tired of running around. Said he didn't think that it was anything that would make me loose a wheel. Went over the brakes, that's not it. If I figure it out, I'll post it here.
