Hello all, my right front wheel bearing is making that ominous sound. Anybody replace their own bearings, dealership wants $410.00 with labor for the job. that hurts. I assume that I remove the spindle nut, and break tie rod end loose to remove the hub assembly, but how hard is it to press out the old bearings and seals. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, george
If you feel good removing the housing from the car, you could save a lot of labor taking just the housing & hub to a machine shop and having everything pressed there.
Having a shop press the bearings is a great idea. Everything else can be done pretty easily by yourself. The fact that the front hubs don't have the dreaded lateral link bolt either makes them easier to do!
~100$ out the door with bearing and pressing at my local mom-n-pop shop... I always buy the bearing/seals from them so they make a little money... 100$ is CHEAP...
Do the lower ball joint at the same time, it's bad...
