2010 NA purchased with 24,401 on 9/20/12 roughly. Been fine up until the last couple days. Cracked 30k today. The last couple of days when you let off the gas to start slowing down or to stop at a red light it down shifts really hard? Its doing it very intermittently. Once on an up shift it shifted hard as well. I have not driven the vehicle hard. Could it be time for a fluid change of the tranny fluid? I intend to check the trans fluid tomorrow. Any ideas what could cause it to act this way? I don't think that its engine related because it doesn't seem to be a miss. It definitely feels like the tranny slipping.

Generally transmission fluid should be changed every 30k or so. Sounds like you need it. I'd add in some Lubeguard ATF additive (helps keep temps even, guys on SLi swear by it on autos) too.
Check your owners manual for the maintenance intervals.
