Hi all, I just purchased a brand new 2.5x Forester and am just getting acquainted with it. Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I searched and didn't find a definitive answer. I noticed today that there is a distinct clicking noise when shifting from park into reverse or drive and vice versa (back into park). Is this normal? Car drives and shifts gears fine.
I got wigged out about it because I put the car into park today after I backed out of the garage, and I didn't come to a complete stop before doing it (probably 1mph or less). After that I noticed the clicking and thought I might have banged something up. In 20 years of driving, I've never owned an auto, so they're kind of new to me. Please tell me this is normal and I haven't fudged up my new car.
