While browsing through many people's foresters, i came up with an conclusion. There are two different 4AT transmissions. One is the standard P-R-N-D-3-2-1. However the other one I saw was the P-R-N-D but it had a manual shift mode. The standard is on LHD Foresters and the manual shift modes are in RHD models. Am I wrong? And if I am wrong or right, can I swap the transmissions.?

talking about a 06-08 forester

(sorry for bad english /grammar)

Thank you:biggrin:

The 4at with sportshift was available in the US as well on the Baja. The version on the baja gets the VTD center diff (actual diff with slight rwd bias) as well instead of MPT in most of the other 4at models in the US. You can potentially swap that transmission, TCU, and shifter. I looked into doing it a while ago and I think either the 03 or 04 tcu could possibly connect to the forester ECU. Basically fitment is the same, but the electrical could prove to be a bit more difficult, however it is definitely possible if you have time/money!
