Default Wiper Arm not working

Hi everyone,

Registered along time ago but never got around to posting anything. Seems like you guys have a good group though.

I do have a question maybe someone might be able to give me a hand with.

Here is my issue, the wiper arm on the drivers side will not move the blade accross the windshield, passangers side works just fine. Seemed that a bit of ice build up froze the blade to the windshield may have caused the problem as the blade remained stuck durring operation. After removing the ice the thing will not move when I flick the switch.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome.

It's helpful to identify the year, model etc. of your car in your sig., but for wipers it probably doesn't make much difference.

It's possible the wiper arm has simply come loose on its splines. At the root of the arm, there's a rubber cap about 20mm diameter which you can easily pull off. Under there you will find a nut which holds the wiper arm on. If this is loose, you'll get the effect you describe.

Failing that, can you hear any untoward noises when the wipers are on? Check from outside the car, too.

Just ran out and gave 'er a twist. Fixed.

Good call on the year and model, hopefully the signature I created takes care of that.

Thanks a bunch! Love that car but as you might be able to tell I'm no mechanic.
