Default Subaru Pre-Paid Maintenance plan

I'd bought the pre paid maintenance plan for my 14 XT. I don't do my oil changes and considering what I paid on my 08 Impreza to get serviced at the dealership, I was fine with the $1100 for 45000 miles.

I just took my XT in @3000 miles for the first service.

While the maintenance cert says the intervals are at 3500 miles - 7500 miles etc, the dealership suggested next service sticker says 10000 miles.

Should I still take it in at 7500 as the certificate suggests?

Follow what your warranty booklet says.

I went in at 3,000 for my first service. The dealer then suggested 7,500 for the next service.

Did you get one of these in the mail?

That made me believe 3,000 miles was the first service, then 7,500 miles.

My service manager said that the service plan covers "a set number of visits" so I plan to follow that schedule that was sent. If you went more frequently, I think it would cover 7 services and then you would be done, even if before 45,000 miles or 3 years.

Yeah, I got the same sheet although I'm pretty sure my first one was set for 3500. I plan on following the frequency in that sheet, but was just thrown off by the dealer sticker.

So you bought it too huh? How much did yours cost ya?

I'm have interest on it as well.
If you don't want to post that info, can you please IM it, thanks.

And yes, the next oil change should be at 7500 miles

On the pre-paid maintenance? I paid $1100.

I remember paying 400, 600, 800 or close to those amounts on some minor / major services, so in my mind if you're doing these at the dealership (which I do), $1100 was a no-brainer!

Yeah at first it was through a 3rd party warranty Zurich? I didn't notice that until I walk out of the dealer(due to excitement). I then went back and talk to the finance guy and was switch to the Subaru extended warranty and the 2 year maint was the same.

That's what I was told as well, but if you are taking it out on unpaved roads I would get it changed more often than 7500. Dirt and debris will really mess with the engine. If your a city driver I would think you should be good to go.
Personally there are a lot of open fields and highway construction where I live so I'm thinking of doing mine around 5000.
Best of luck!

No dirt roads. Just city streets and way too many lights.

I just want to follow what the cert provides for..

I paid around $2,600 for the 3yr/45k mile service along with the 100k mile warranty.

It is a bargain if you look at the numbers. Local dealer prices are:
  • 3,750 mile: $76
  • 7,500 mile: $96
  • 15,000 mile: $410
  • 22,500 mile: $96
  • 30,000 mile: $410
  • 37,500 mile: $96
  • 45,000 mile: $410
  • TOTAL: $1,594

30 K for my 08 Impreza was $600-800 by itself.

Maybe your California prices are inflated there as well...

Here is the link where I got those numbers from, using the full synthetic prices.
