Hi, I am a bit new to these cars, but I am pretty handy. I got this 06 SOHC Forester, which had its timing belt broken. Needless to say, one of the cylinders (#4) had 2 exhaust valves bent. I took the head off, had the valves replaced and set, and put everything back together, and that's when these problems started.
#1 Two codes are stored in the system and no reset gets rid of them. P0340 - Camshaft position sensor A Circuit (Bank 1 or Single sensor) P0076 - Intake valve control circuit low (Bank 1) #2 When I try to start a car, the engine rotates but does not fire up for about 3-4 tries with each of them ending up with a noise as if something breaks inside. After a while, the car finally starts and idles more or less fine, but when you drive it and stop with the tranny in drive, the car idles and shakes as if it wants to stall. I bought a camshaft position sensor today and replaced it, but it did not change a thing. Both codes are still there. Did I screw up something when I reinstalled the cylinder head and intake manifold? I looked everything over and over and all connections are plugged in and secure. Could there be a short somewhere? ![]() I feel like I'm just banging my head against the wall. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! |
