service manuals

I have an 09 forester prem na. I like working on my cars myself and have been waiting for a repair manual to no avail. The dealer said they don't make ser manuals. I like working on them but I also prefer reading up on the procedure before I start. Any ideas ?

you'll have to login and buy access time to download the sections you need
you can download the entire service manual if you are patient.
It only allows so many pages and then a time restriction hits before you can do more.

Yep. I bought a 72 hour subscription couple yrs ago and it was VERY tedious downloading each little section. I spent the better part of my weekend in front of the PC downloading for 2009 model year and waiting thanks to that moronic time limit per certain amount of data. I go all but one section I think.

I'd be happy with a Haynes.

I bet you wouldn't. I've seen your posts and you seem to be a details oriented type of guy.

Not trying to be snarky, but I haven't found a Haynes as good as a decent factory manual yet. God knows I've been looking.

Ha-Ha... LOL
I know the Haynes aren't great, but I just need something I can hold in greasy hands while working, and remind me... "OH- I gotta do that?"

I ordered a full set of Subaru factory service manual for my 2010 Forester from from Jackie at Annapolis Subaru (a supporter here). It set me back about $300, but they are the real deal.

Here's a thread that talks about the ordering the manuals.
