I have read about the beneifts from regrounding. How would I know if it would be good to do?

Yes, it can help, but in my opinion, they help because the factory ground is failing. I always recommend giving the factory grounds a good once over before adding additional grounds. By once over, I mean lifting off, cleaning & coating with dielectric grease when you put it back together.
