Please help!! 2014 forester won't go into gear!

I just got into my car and it won't go into gear! It's stuck in park and I can't do anything to get it into gear. My hill asset is on, the abs is flashing and the airbag warning is on. I did nothing at the car at all, does anyone have any idea what the hell this can be.

It's a 2014 forester XT

You could try manually releasing the shift lock to see if that gets you going. The button is under the little circular access cover at the front-left of the shifter area.

Section 7-28 of the owners manual offers some other things to try.

Already tried that. It did nothing.only thing I did was put in the DD let rear lights and turn signals. Took them out. I now have the car sitting unplugged during my Costco trip

LED mods have done some funky stuff to some SJs on here. Hopefully this turns out to be nothing major.

Take a look at this post: Keyless ignition won't start, electrical issues, no brake lights, etc.

Car starts and runs. Just won't go into gear. I have no idea what it is. I had to go out I don't feel like dealing with it today

If you have a key, it will start.

His didn't start because pushbutton start requires you to have the brake pedal pressed to start the ignition.

Put in your normal brake light bulbs and see if they work. You could even just check to see if the 3rd brake light works.

If your brake system fuse is not working, your shift lock immobilizer won't let you shift. Do you hear the shifter area make a click when you press the brake pedal down?

I'll try that as soon as I get home. Where is the fuse located in case it popped

Check 8 and 14 under the dash as well as 15 in the engine compartment. That is what I gathered from what he said was the issue on his.

Here is the diagram...

Did you check to see if your 3rd brake light is working?
