It depends on how much & where you drive. Of course if you park under a tree, more crap will end on the filter. The last time I checked the filter in my '03 it had been in service over a year & other than a light vacuuming, the filter looked pretty clean...:)

I just pulled mine put, was completely blocked with dirt etc. I just hosed it off and it looked like it had charcoal in it as loads of fine black dust came out also and the filter was grey afterwards. Dried off nicely and back in

Got my TYC oem cabin filters from Locical Source last week and i must say it looks pretty darn identical to the overpriced subaru filter but a lot cheaper. I paid less than $30 for 2 filters including shipping.
