Something to keep an eye on.
What were your driving habits during this interval? Did you have a lot of short trips?
I have fuel dilution as well since I drive 5 miles each way daily and use German Castrol. Although I usually go around 7,500 on an interval.

Thinner oils will probably help with the fuel dilution.

The usual round of daily trips to work (30 minutes each way) plus a trip to NC.
I also think I may not have let the car warm up enough before dropping the oil, which would result in the dilution numbers.
The other thing I notice in the analysis is a consistent shearing of the oil to a 30 weight (last 3 tests).
Gotta love that Florida heat!

Quite a few M1 30 weight UOA's show it shearing down to a 20 weight or close in 4,000 miles or less. Guys over on bitog have had the M1 40 weights shear down to a 30 weight as well. I'm not sure if M1 thickens back up over time but as you can see from my last UOA on GC (post 32), it thickened up to a 40 weight. At 66.4 SUS, it was very close to the viscosity of your M1 and I went nearly twice as long on my interval. Not bad for a 0W30.

If you want a more shear stable 40 weight, why not try Redline?

Actually, I'm OK with ending up with a thick 30 weight... thanks.

After my 30k change I'm going to start using a 7500 mile OCI with analysis @ 3750 miles.

You must be the most dedicated Mobil user ever. Do you work for them or something?

I'm thinking of using it for winter since I want something thinner than GC.

Nah.
I'm sure Amsoil & Redline both have better products, but since we road trip alot, I require the oil I use to be readily available while on the road in different cities.
Mobil1 is available on every corner.
Amsoil & Redline are harder to find.

I always have 'extra' with me on long road trips.....just in case (haven't needed it though & would do the same no matter what oil I was using). Besides, in an emergency I could always top up with M1 or something else......as it's compatible.

New results attached.
And it's still a 40 weight! Yay!
I'm sure the cooler winter temperatures helped with that.

That's good. Lower temps along with a shorter interval. I think I need to scale back on my interval because of high iron. I'll be posting mine shortly.
Great wear numbers!

A few ago, I blew the top radiator hose on the freeway. It was an easy fix, but I pegged the temp gauge getting the car to a parking lot. So I sent a sample to Blackstone. I had Quaker State 5w30 and a Fram oil filter, cheap stuff, apparently effective. The engine seems to have come out unscathed.

The money spent at Blackstone Laboratories is well worth the peace of mind.

Got my results today for my 04 XT, the high copper (28 when the avg is supposed to be 9) kind of scares me. Anyone know what I can look for to find the source?

A couple months ago when I removed those stupid little in-line oil filter jobbers I did start to cross thread one of the bolts when I put it back in (I stopped and put it in right), so I'm wondering if that could have contributed... but I could swear I did that the oil change before this one. Only other brass thing I can think of is maybe the Fumoto valve? Hoping it's not a bad bearing or something.

Here's my last report. This was the second change with the Valvoline synthetic 5w-30 in it. I'm trying some Pennzoil Platinum synthetic now since I couldn't find any of the Valvoline

So much of my driviing is stop and go, I'm sticking with the 3k changes.

There were no changes in the driving style, or engine work, or anything else in the last 6k. All of the improvements look to be based upon the oil.
