1999 Subaru Forester blinker problem

When I turn the blinker on, the light just stays on instead of blinking, and same with the hazard lights. The car actually started doing that in the middle of a trip.

anyone know what the problem could be?

by the way, they dont turn on at all anymore. I checked all the turn signal bulbs and they were fine and changed the 2 front ones anyway, and checked all the fuses they are also fine.

where is the flasher unit located? can I tell if its broken just by looking at it?

Did you check the blinker fluid reservoir? You should top it off before checking anything else, just to be sure...

I posted the wiring diagrams for your year Forester here. Perhaps that will help.
