Okay i just intalled a down pipe and an upipe (both catless) on my 05 fxt. I am running stage 2 map from AP. I am not reaching my target boost of 14.5. It is @ about 12 which is what i was doing with the stage 1 map. I have reflashed, reset and reflashed, it is the base map and realtime map. So its not the tuning but its got to be mechanical. Would changing my EBCS to a 3 port solve this and would AP be able to tune for this mod? The car has 106k and when i had the turbo exposed i checked the shaft play and there was very little. So the turbo is healthy. And i have checked for leaks everywhere and cannot find any. Please help and any input is welcome. Thanks.

Where are you located? If you're at altitude that can cause you too see lower boost numbers.
I probably wouldn't do an EBCS without a tune though. I'd check out CObb's recomendation on the pill restrictor size in the stock boost solenoid reference line.

You definitely need a tune for a boost control solenoid. If you don't you may actually overboost.

I am in ND. But if i havent done anything with the pill or stock bleed off system everything should be fine right? Cobb are made around the stock bleed off system. I have made sure the pill is in the right location.. And it is. I am really out of ideas. How can i tell if my EBCS is failing?

Sure you have no preturbo exhaust leaks?
You can not run a 3 port without a map made for it. The WGDC in the map is very very different between the stock and the 3 port. Have you data logged and is there anything else unusual going on that you can see? |

North Dakota has some pretty high altitude. If you mess with it too much, you may end up in trouble if you ever drive flat out at sea level. I personally wouldn't try to get the boost all the way up to target. You're better off under boosting than over. TD04s don't do so well when pushed hard for many thousands of miles.

^^ +1,000, don't mess with it "or it will fall off". 12psi is plenty for a stock turbo on an a (very crappy) off the shelf map.

Thanks guys ya i am just goin to leave where its at ... There will be a turbo upgrade in the future so i am not gonna try to get big numbers with this td04 .... Plan on doin a pro tune and the should make a night and day difference... The part of ND i am in is 904 above sea level.. But will be movin to Kansas City in a few months... I think the elevation is similar?
