the ej257 is the sti SB. the ej255 is considered the 'world motor' and is found in all 06+ turbo models(except stis).

ej257 > ej255.

If you are swapping rods and pistons, there is no effective difference.

BUT, what is involved is full machine shop workover. The block needs to be split, line-bored, honed to piston spec, all new bearings, properly assembled and put back together. Stock Subaru rod and journal bearings are weaksauce. It's not a "pop em in" ordeal. A motor build is not something that should be bargain basemented on. It should be done right, done once.

None, really.

I'm sure you could google it and find out that it's practically the same, aside from some paint. Haha

The crank is the same, as are all of the bearings. The case IS a slightly different aluminum, however.

Dinemsionally, they are identical.

So in preparation for going with something a bit bigger turbo wise i'm thinking about get some new injectors installed. I would likely go with an 18g or maybe a 20g but that would probably be the biggest.

1. I was thinking that 750cc's would do it.
2. Are there any OTS tunes suitable for those injectors?
