Default 2004 XT STi Intercooler Help Needed

sleeperxt and I (or rather sleeperxt) tried to install an STi intercooler on my 2004 FXT this afternoon. After getting it in we realized that the intake hose did not line up with the bypass valve.

On my FXT the bypass valve is at about a 45 degree angle where the bypass valve of the the STi IC is level horizontal.

What can I get to make the STi IC fit in mah Foz?

SuperRu will become famous soon enough

You need one of these.

Contact the closest forum supporting OEM parts vendor and they will take care of you.

The BPV for MY06+ is the same as the STi one. For 04/05, you'll need an STi BPV.

You can get around it using a longer hose and loop it underneath but SuperRu is correct. Remove the throttle body and take out the metal tube below it and then run the silicone hose. I used one from Samco. I felt it could have been just a little bit longer but worked fine.

Dude, I've been to THREE AutoZones and nobody has the right hose. They look at me like I'm crazy. I was going to order silicon ones tomorrow, but I was trying to not go that route because I want to go VF39. I'm so sad . . .

Dont worry about the extra hose. I ran the STi tmic with the STi red elbow and my TD04 with no issues. We can get it done in no time. It takes a little extra fitting but like you said you don't want to cut that elbow so when you get that VF39 it will slip right on.
