Full writeup coming soon, too many pics to resize on my tablet - install is super easy - they snap into the factory slots on the bumper, took my time and was done in 4 hours. Most difficult part was finding a firewall grommet I dropped.
For the $40 I paid on eBay for these (seller mistake apparently on the price, but he honored it) it was worth every cent. Actually quite pleased with the brightness and finish, they look like they could be OEM.
Edit: Here's the full writeup:
1) Remove the bumper cover. It is only held on by a number of the push-pin type plastic fasteners. Use a trim removal tool or small flat screwdriver to pop the pins and remove the fasteners. They are located approximately where the dots are in this picture.
after removing the fasteners, gently pull on the edge of the cover starting at the top corner by the wheel well. Be careful here, too much pulling and you can wrinkle the cover paint. The cover will snap out in the areas it meets with the fender and below the headlight. If you have foglights remove the bulbs or unclip the wires before lowering the cover to the ground (gently) use a towel on the ground to prevent scratching the paint.
2) Pop out the factory black pieces above the foglight bezels, the ones next to the foglights are part of the foglight bezel and can remain in place. Run the wire from the led assy thru the hole exposed.
3) Install the power assy. I placed mine on top of the bumper beam using a self tapping screw. The yellow wire will goto 12v switched power, red to 12v constant (or the same 12v switched supply as I did), black to ground, and white to headlamp low beam (optional, this dims the drls for night if wanted or required by your local laws). Here is where the assy is installed (just above the photo, oops). The excess wires were tied and then tied to the bracket for the keyless beep module. Excess wire for the left DRL was tied to the foglight harness. The right DRL harness was ran across the bumper beam and secured with nylon clamps and self tapping screws. Ground was installed near the unit. 12v switched and constant were combined on one wire and ran thru the firewall to the fuse box. I left off the split loom in the pictures for easy viewing where the wire went. After the picture the wire was loomed and tied to the existing harness going forward from the firewall, as was the wire under the dash.
4) After all the wires were ran for the power, I carefully placed the cover under where it mounts on the car, and connected the DRLs and the fog lamps.
The electrical connections were taped for added weatherproofing, although they do have small gaskets in them. Then carefully reinstall the bumper cover after, going opposite of removal.
Enjoy your non-OEM lights.... :bananapowerslide:
Miscellaneous photos.....
Nighttime full power check after receiving the box - way brighter then expected for the price!
Was impressed with the "could be OEM" appearance..
Front right corner with no cover. Yes I know the fog bulbs are hanging there. Amplifier looking unit is the OEM DRL resistor box. Disconnect this to disable the high beam DRL's. I removed the unit entirely and taped the connector shut. Also note the rather large white bottle - apparently a intake resonator (usually they're black ABS)?
Front left corner behind cover - quite a unique washer fluid bottle design.. :icon_eek:
Keyless entry beep module. Located behind bumper beam left side.
Center mounted horn (or pitiful attempt at a horn)
Right side mounted horn, behind bumper beam (even with 2, still a pitiful horn)
Happy endings.... :woohoo:
Hope this helps someone!
Enjoy!
