fog light on with high beam mod

I 'm sure this has been covered before but I couldn't find a direct answer among all the arguments of "if this is a good or bad idea." I wanted my fogs to stay on with the high beam as well as low beam. Remember they will still only work with the headlights on they just wont shut off with the high beam.
All you have to do is cut the yellow and red wire at the fog light switch and ground the switch side. Obviously tape off the other end of the cut wire. That's it.

I just hope you...

Are prepared for the ticket you'll get when a police officer realizes your high beams were on at the same time as your fogs...

Quote dependent on the specific state I would expect. And on the cop.

I know it is...

Illegal in IN, OH and IL. Would assume it is illegal in more states than not.

Some places in IN they'll write you a ticket just for using the fogs when you have no need(by the way, ability to "use your high beams" constitutes not needing to use the fogs).

By the way, on the Audi A6 estate I had, I was stopped once for using the rear fog. Nowhere in the U.S. is it legal to use that.

I knew this was going to end up going this way. This is just a diy thread. If you don't want to do it then fine. I just found every search I did there was no good answer. Do it if you want or don't. Laws are enforced all different ways. Where I live cops have more important things to do than write tickets for fog lights staying on with the high beams.

I would rather have them shut off with my high beams, but being able to turn them on with just the parking lights would be a better mod. That would actually make them work more like fogs than accessory lights.
