Auto Door Lock ?

Does anyone know a trick to lock the drivers door if the Forester is running and warming up. I want to start it up and go back inside the house but the door will not lock. I have a spare set of keys to get back in I just don't want someone to drive off with it.

A quick review of the 2010 owner's manual suggests you have a couple of options:
1) Have a dealer disable the "Key lock-in prevention" function (OM pg 19).
2) Manually turn the driver's door lock lever to the "locked" position before closing the door (OM pg 2-7).
3) Use a spare key to lock the door from the outside (OM pg 2-7).
I think I'd go for #3, but I'd first verify it with the driver's window down.

Thank you Sir!, I'll try option 3 first, then try option 2 with the window down when I go home for lunch.
