Hi all

I am fitting spotlights to my 2011 Forester and wondering if anyone knows which wire at the back of the headlight assembly is the one that goes to earth through the switch for high beam.

I am assuming that that they are neg switched headlights and I should be able to run the switch wire from the relay through the switch and back to the right wire at the back of the headlight assembly so that it earths the relay and pulls the relay on with high beam.

Have looked for this info all over the web but to no avail so far.

Just not sure which wire to use. Would be very grateful for any onfo on this.

Thanks

Cheers, Hugh

pos switched

Have done a bit more testing and it certainly appears that the high beams are pos switched. There are 2 wires that go from the headlight wiring connector at the back of the headlight assembly into the high beam headlight, red and black.

The red wire has power on high beam and will activate the spotlight relay if the corresponing relay connector (85 or 86) is connected to earth through the switch.

Cheers
