Smile Rent a Subaru...YES

Apparently, National Rent A Car in Canada rents various Subarus at their Regina and Victoria locations.

Now if they could just rent them in Vancouver and Winnipeg.

Some enterprise places use them cause when I was looking to buy one there were a few for sale at one of the enterprise places and the sales man said they were ex-rentals.

I've seen Foresters and Outbacks for rent at BWI (Hertz, IIRC).

Non-turbo Forester, Legacies, and Outbacks have been part of the rental car fleet here in Portland for years. I had a Legacy rental back in 2001 when I moved out here.

I guess the rental car companies get them for people going to Mt. Hood. At the time, they wanted to rent me tire chains too.

^ Hertz, IIRC, in Atlanta, GA.

My father rented an Outback wagon, non-turbo, automatic, when he came to visit us, when my daughter was born 3 years ago.

It was winter time, and he got the Outback rental because he'd heard, from me, so much about how wonderful my Legacy and my wife's then-WRX was, in the white stuff.

This is another reason for me not to buy non turbo Subaru. The resale value went down the ditch once the car company sell it to fleet customer.
1. Customer does not like being associated with rental car
2. People's perception that all rental car must have been abused.

Boo for Subaru for selling their car to rental companies!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could have gotten a Forester for a snowy, foggy trip across the Coquihalla Highway just before Christmas a few years ago. I did end up with a Hyundai Tuscon which was OK, but it wasn't a Forester.

I wouldn't be too hard on Subaru. Toyotas are very common (in Western Canada) rental car and you can't argue Toyotas resale value.

I am glad to be offered AWD when I need it.
