I hope to get two years of solo out of my rt615s (thats twice a month solo for ten months, about 100 runs with a school). I put them on the night before an event and drive there and back with the Falkens. Sometimes I'll put them on for a subi gathering just to look cool. Running the G009's as daily drivers it's quite a change; sidewall, grip and road feel. Mondays after a solo are the worst, I'll enter a sweeper thinking I have the Falkens and slip, slip, slip sidewall feel and grip will get you in trouble.

I'm looking for another set of rims for R's to run DE's. I toasted my last set of RT615s at Texas Motor Speedway last year. I'm sportin a fresh set for this year of getting killed by STI's in STU.

after i burn up the michelin pilot sports I'll be switching over to RT615's myself. hopefully they will last year for the remaining of the autox year. I will be switching between my stock wheels and 5Zigens for autoxing.

Default update

refer to autoxer post

added:

Megan Racing COs

COBB FSB
COBB RSB (adjustable)

Power slot rotors

Hawk Race Pads

After installing these, I ended placing 1st the last five races of the year in 2006. I was voted as the #2 autoxer of the year in our club. I run in ESP.

If you start having wheel spin issues you may want to go back to a stock FSB, I am running one in SM and it works very well.

I am looking at a way to keep my Cobb on the car and soften it up a bit for autocross and easily set it back for the street and track days, if it works I will post the info.

My forester setup:

1998 Forester 5-speed. 2.5L NA

Suspension
WRX Springs/Shocks
WRX Shifter and Bushing (huge improvement)
WRX Wheels with 205/50/16 (?) Kumho ASX (all season )
STi rear sway bar

Alignment: Unknown

I dont autox my Forester, it is my bad weather DD and utility vehicle. HOwever, with the setup listed above, it is surprisingly good at steady state grip. I run in WDCR SCCA Solo and I have a Nationally Prepared STU M3 as well (dominates all STis, except maybe the 2006,2007 STU nat'l champ's), and the Forester can enter an on ramp almost the same speed.

With the STi rear sway, the car has very good off throttle oversteer. So I can dive hard into a SS turn, and then lift abruptly, and instantly go full throttle and the all seasons will claw admirably around off ramps (this is the only reference i have since it hasn't been to autox or track). The car has to be tossed agressively on the street for it to work. On dirt, just small lift throttle or slight left foot braking can yield good turn in, and instant on-throttle application will make the car straighten up and pull through the corner exit.

The car is lots of fun in twisties, but really underpowered. I bought some front camber [crash] bolts, Im thinking about shooting for -2 to -2.5 degrees (dont know if this is possible), and 0 to 0.10 deg toe out in front. Anybody have experience with this in the front as far as tire wear?

Scott, didn't expect to see you on this board This must be where you go when you're taking a break from whoring bf.c :) It's funny, I am lurking around here waiting on some info on the 09' Forester. I need a DD as well so the M3 can rest up and get a little more track prep

Whats up Alex? Yeah, I just found out about this site. Thought I would get on here and allow myself to introduce....myself.

You can come check out my Forester if you want. Its so cheap to modify because stock WRX parts are dirt cheap. Of course, a turbo Forester would be pretty awesome.

it's possible. I had my car on an alignment rack and i could do -3 degrees of negative camber if i wanted to on my FXT. I'm running -2.4 degrees of camber myself w/ ingall's camber bolts and 1mm toe out with no tire wear issues. the car grips very well.

Excellent! Thank you for sharing. I will install my INgalls camber bolts and try for something similar. Nice setup by the way. These cars are cool underdogs.

My signature is updated with my mods list for ESP here in SoCal.

On my way to a second(2007) ESP local championship as it looks right now.

It's a small field battle though, me, a dodge dakota, and a WS6 Trans Am on 305 Hoosiers.

My biggest win was a second place at the El Toro, CA ProSolo this year though.

Actually won some money, I think that I would be the first Forester to win SCCA/Kumho/SOA trophy money. Maybe.

Any questions on setups, let me know....
Pete...

anyone using these ball joints???

http://www.6gunracing.com/products.asp

i am trying to research as much as i can before i spend my money on this money pit. i want a good track/auto x set up

Ideas right now are

Tein Flex's Forester specific
STI Lateral Links
Cobb Sway bars
Kart boy end links

and eventually these brakes at the top of the page. http://gruppe-s.com/forester/forbrk.htm anyone running that kit?!

and eventually wider wheels and tires.

power is going to wait till i get that done but i am thinking cobb for EM (when ever they come out with a stage 2 package for the 08s) and down the road a STI top mount, fule pump and vf 34 turbo...

Any suggestions?

Ram95 - what class do you want to run in at autox? alot of your suspension/hp/tq mods can be determined by that alone.

^ The problem is I dont want to get into a too competive class in auto xing, but I want to have the mods on my car so i can keep up at NASA events. I guess auto x would be more of a side thing then the track events.
