Try to keep it on the downlow. Be that guy who's just excited to show up and drive on a track - don't act like you've got a secret or they'll figure out what you've got.

With a professional driver on a prepped course with the car being brand new. I would bet if its stock and has around 80,000 miles on it, it might do a 14.5 on stock street tires. Mt brother has a 94 GT 5.0 and with DR's he didnt break into the 14's. But his car has like 179,000 miles on it. So my point is that car should run 14's at best. When I race my legacy, I air my tires to 40psi, rev the car to 4500rpms and start to let the clutch out, when I feel it start t engage, I let it all the way out and go wide open. I pull 60' times at 1.80 all day. Have fun and lets see video |

Ingenious! But maybe dangerous...active ingredient in canned air for computers and keyboards, etc., is propane! But it sure would ice the fins! -Quick

The jetta LOL
The RSX, could be an problem if he doesnt spin too badly off the line. But I seriously doubt it. The cobra, will be hilarious. Thats a mid 14 second car AT BEST. The RSX will likely take him out. Kill them. Have no mercy. Smash them like bugs. Send them home crying, I want to hear that all 3 cars have for sale signs on them the next day. |

BTW, lose the 18s. 18s can add up to or more than 2 tenths to your ET. I have seen it happen. Regardless, you will definately be slower on 18s than 17s or smaller. Even at the same weight, 18s will effectively be heavier, due to where in the rotational mass the weight is placed. Run like 22PSI up front and like 27 in the rear. That seemed to work best for me. |

The one guy on the Mazdaspeed Miata board I am on went from his stock 17s to lighter 17s and lighter tires, and gained 7whp. This is 7whp on a car that was making @170whp before that. I also know a guy on Nasioc with a bugeye WRX (well, had a bugeye at the time) that went from his stock 16s to a set of 22lb 18s (you would be suprised, 22lbs isnt that heavy for an 18" wheel unless you spend 3k on them. Heck man a lot of 17s are 21lbs) and ran 2 tenths slower in the 1/4. I know my 18s are going to hurt me. But I will have enough motor to deal with it and still be fast :) Not that I couldnt be faster. But looks are also a concern, and these 18s are SOOOO hot. |

. What I think is funny is on a car like a civic with a fart cannon and mugen badges that doesnt make much power, and you see all these people putting stuff that slow it down like big body kits and wheels. I will bet that you will prolly buy good/light wheels and we all know that you will be making some power
