Called the dealership here in Vegas today. Was tryin to get a price on the hitch set up. I'd called a few weeks ago and was told, 250 or so. Which was alright...just got lazy and didn't make it in. I called today, they told me...$368 for the HITCH! I asked what the deal was to hear, all of SUBARU'S Accessories were given a price increase. WTF!? over a HUNDRED dollars...so, now i'm gonna have to order one on the net. For 182 plus shipping. Could not believe that. Just thought i'd see if anyone else has run across this, or if Vegas is tryin to scam some fools!

Go to e-trailers and get the Curt hitch with wiring harness for around $160 shipped.

The worst ones are the roof accessories, they were expensive to being with, now they are just absurd.
I second sea-scooby's advice. I just bought a hitch for my 96 Outback on E-bay (CapandHitch IIRC) as well as the harness, identical to the factory bits (minus the Subaru sticker) and their regular price was less than my cost as a dealer ![]() Edit: I just looked it up and it lists MSRP as $229.95 still I have one in stock, $182.00 plus shipping if you are interested, factory Subaru, all you have to add is the ball. |
