Well, the CRV is a small minivan in all but name and I'll admit that the XTrail is different. Look how different its big brother, the Xterra, was from the rest of the crowd. But those are only a couple examples in a mostly cookie-cutter crowd. Used to be that the RAV4 was quite a bit different, too, but it's also starting to blend in.

But honestly, how could Subaru retain some styling cues from the SF and SG, appease those of us asking for a bit more space, and NOT have it resemble so many others out there? Not so easy to do.

Either way, I like what I see so far and I think they're giving us what many of us were asking for while making a vehicle that will help attract new buyers to the brand. Can't wait for the test drive.

The CRV is a car based CUV, same as the FXT.

Everything has cues from everything, but IMO, they all look different. Everything I've seen about the next Forester is better than I thought. I just wish the specs were slightly improved in terms of power, transmission etc.

mesh grille one is hot.

i'm tempted to like it, but if they're still making it out of that crappy sheet metal, i'll still have the same gripes about easy denting, dings, chips, and road noise.

MESH GRILL = SF LOVE BABY!

Jtom, thanks for posting the pics. Anyone come across any more definite volume/measurements of interior space? I can't wait for a review to see if the back seat is really more roomy or not!

Default Lots of Real Pics.........

I really like the seats, they look like good quality. They also look cool too. The cup holders appear to be able to slide back and forth. Still cant tell about the leg room though.

Looks very similar, hopefully we will see a power bump with the added weight.

The grill doesnt look bad at all in these pics, I think I will have to see it in person to decide whether to add the sport grille.

It actually looks pretty good.

Yes!! I see a lot of styling cues that are reminiscent of the SF models... it even looks like it'll have reclining rear seats again!

Agreed, I think that surface won't age well, especially in places like armrests. My shifter surround and center stack look like crap compared to the rest of the car.

I'm liking it more and more. In fact, unless the weight specs we've seen are just pure fantasy, I think I'm sold. The interior looks roomy and the fabrics durable. The door cards even have fabric inserts so that should keep it from feeling like an ocean of plastic inside. The size looks ok and not too big. The exhaust looks like the Legacy layout and there seems to be enough ground clearance that a slight drop won't ruin all of its utility. I even think I like the standard grill and fascia better than the sport style front end.

Yep, I think I'm sold on it. Do you have a 9J1 manual with the Touring Package in Newport Blue Pearl? Ok then, write her up.
