How come this year when I had to stop on an icy up hill slope my Forester did not slid backwards like that. When the car (some Nissan 4WD ute thing) tried to take off in front of me and started sliding back towards me, I wasn't hanging around. I went to take off, the car slid back a little and then the traction control kicked in, and I drove around the outside of about 3-4 cars all looking on in amazement, all without chains.

Did they not have the traction control switched on, and if it was switched off, I think the VDC is still always active.

As for the show, it was trying too hard to be like the original UK Top Gear and not make their own identity. Everything that guy, not sure of his name, was the same as Jeremy, from introducing the Stig to the review fo the cars, event he way he was driving the cars.
They were using stock road tyres don't forget. Afterwards they fitted snow tyres and after that traction was not an issue. Don't forget you'll get 4 wheel spin if it can't get traction on any of the 4 wheels; traction control won't help you at all.

I forgot, I did what I said with the stock tyres.

I thought the show was a bit lame. I thought they might have some better known personalities as hosts.

I switched off half way through. As has been said already, just a poor copy of UK Top Gear. The hosts would do better developing their own personalities in my humble opinion.

Bring on the next season of UK Top Gear.

Episode 1 of the next Season of UK Top Gear (Season 12) should air on November 2.

So we should be able to get a copy sometime in the first week of November... woo hoo.

So, what about the review? Frankly, there wasn't a whole lot they said about any of them. The hosts really didn't go into any detail about any of them.

the show is pretty average, crowd is a lot smaller that i expected. Don't understand why they use a V6 RAV4 instead of a 4.
