If you can find a private road or do it safely elsewhere, go for a 80-120km/h time rather than 80-100 or 80-110.

Is 80-120 the "normal" ingear overtaking test?

Private road is no problem so I will get a 80-120 time.

Yeah, it's the most commonly used bracket.

Hey Hey

XB kit Dyno results.

This is more than I saw in the road tune, the torque comes on earlier, a lot earlier and harder (more vertical line) and keeps on going well over and beyond the XA kit.

Very nice

Sorry mate. If it wasn't for the Race prepped EVO X pushing 2000Nm of torque(before diff ratio was taken into account) STILLthat broke the dyno, it would have been done.

I can hardly contain myself. Will tomorrow never come.............

Took my mate for a run last friday. He mentioned when he was getting in that he used to own a really fast Torana with a factory spec 253..

Needless to say he braced a couple of times in the crash position.

It was a joy to watch.

It's still thursday .........

Default This is great stuff!

I like your results....so this XB kit consinst a complete turbo-back exhaust and tune?

I will be testing the Cobb Accessport...stage one, two and two plus over the next month. I hope to see the same types of results as you.

Jon

XB is turbo back plus tune. STi killer.

With Cobb are all of the stage maps a generic map? What is the cost of the maps and do you flash them yourself?

Thumbs up

Faster - I'm very impressed with your specs posted there. You must be stoked!

I'd like to find out a tuning shop in Brisbane that could quote me on an XA or XB kit for my new Foz. Seeing your performance inscrease has got me hungry for horses

The Accessport is a small portable device (about the size of a man's bi-fold wallet). You can store a number of different maps and change the mapping "on-the-fly" if you like. You could have an "economy" map or a "valet" map which limits boost and rpms for those who you do not want to thrash on your car and best of all you can have a custom tuned super-high output map....if you get one made. Yes, once you acquire the maps, you can flash them yourself in a few minutes time. The "off the shelf" maps from Cobb are generally very safe maps and they do not cost a penny. The Accessport itself retails for around $650-$700 US dollars.

I will be going to a local authorized Subaru/Cobb tuning shop in the very near future and will have a custom Map created, much like what has been done for your car. The custom dyno tuning session costs around $200 US dollars.

Cobb Stage 1 is much like "XA" as it is tuning only.

Cobb Stage 2 is much like "XB" as it requires a Hi-FLow Downpipe, at a minimum, to go along with the tuning.

Cobb Stage 2 "plus" is just what I am calling it, much like Perrin Performance calls it. This will be a custom tune with the following parts;
*Hi-FLow Down Pipe (both sections)
*Hi-Flow Cat-Back exhaust
*Perrin Cold Air Intake
*Perrin Turbo Inlet Hose
*Perrin Custom Intercooler
*93 octane
.....this should result in about 240HP, 345TQ at the wheels.

The best thing is the peak torque occurrs right around the Torque Converter Stall Speed, so the combination of the 4EAT and the TDO4 turbo are well matched.

By the way XA will be a tune only as the exhaust is fine for a stage one level of power increase. Ring MRT for a price, plus with MRT you get their warranty guarantee.

Sounds like a plug but in truth I don't know the pricing, and the guarantee was the reason I went with MRT.
Hi Faster,

What happens to your sport mode now? Did they tune that as well or its still as is and you dont use it anymore?
