Default What the Heck is THIS!? (Picture)

So I am installing some
Phillips LED DRLs Phillips LED DRLs
and the only place to mount them is on the lowest part of the bumper as the opening just below the grill does not have enough surface area to mount these and not have them exposed past the bumper. So I will have to remove this random inlet funnel looking thing. But I am curious...what the heck is it and what does it do!?!?! It has two outlets and they both lead nowhere! I am so stumped, someone enlighten me before I rip it out so I can install these LEDs!! Thanks.

It's so weird, it looks like an air funnel but it literally just opens up to nothing. There's an opening as you can see which is pretty much straight back, then there is another hidden scoop that goes below, again to just atmosphere. It's rather well secured also...2 screws on top in to the bumper and 2 snap clips below again securing it to the bumper.

When i took my bumper off I saw the same thing it seems like it leads to nothing.

To the left the stock intercooler piping and intake is there. My friends notice out bypass valve is there too. Guess it lets some air into there?
