STi bumper vs. Sport bumper

Are these the same? I swear they look exactly alike except for the STi decals on the foglight covers. The grill looks the same as well.

If that's true, it seems to mean that we can now get an "STi" front bumper and grill from local dealers right?

Is there something i'm missing?

I don't know the answer, but if they look the same, it doesn't really mater if the are the same. You get it for looks anyway, right?

Right. I don't have to have an STi bumper. I just thought they looked an awful lot alike so I was going to go for one of the Sport bumpers to replace my mutilated stock bumper. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't looking at the STi bumper. I can't find a good picture of an XT Sport on here.

they are the same but the grill is "slightly" different. The STi grill is black and the sports grills have some painted trim.

Ok thanks. I wonder if my non-Sports grill will work with the Sports bumper.

I am pretty sure someone already swapped in a FSTi grill in place of their stock grill...and they didn't have the FSTi/Sports bumper.

The jdm sti bumper is the same as the usdm sport bumper, but the sti bumper has the sti logo on it. The jdm crosssports bumper also has the underbumper lip though.

JDM crosssports bumper cover = JDM FSTi bumper cover = USDM XT sports bumper cover

^^This is the known.

What to verify:
  • Are the bumper beams all the same for the models above?
  • Will stock grill fit w/ sports bumper (not that I would want the stock if I could get the sports grill but still wondering)?

I have installed a CrossSports grille onto a Forester X, but have not installed a USDM Forester Sports grille yet (SOA does not seem to want to put any in the warehouse)

Then they should be the same. So that answers 1 of the 2 questions. Do you know about the bumper beams?

Yep - me :) perfect fit.
I actually prefer the stock bumper as you retain the fogs plus it doesn't look so slab fronted. Only downside is that sexy JDM front splitter won't fit :(

Bartop's bumper is different than the USDM Sports and JDM STi, his has foglights.
