Is there a way to make the site default to classic view every time?

I often google the site externally and then hit the forums.

I don't understand the "full site" view.....I am probably too old at this point and have gotten used to the classic view in terms of functionality.

Is there a way to hit the classic view consistently as opposed to the "full site" view?

Thanks!

As far as I am aware you cannot set it to default externally, you have to log on and go to User CP / Edit Options / Misc Options down the bottom and you can select the default skin.

I prefer & always view the forum in "Classic View".

Take a look here: HOW TO - Change site layout back to old view

When I am already logged in here and I come to the site via an external link, the site knows who I am and remembers my settings.

I agree with your preference for the classic forum view. I hope it never goes away.

Thanks for that! I just find that as I have "come of age" I get tired of learning new things and few can relate to your way of thinking. I just stick to my guns and learn to live with it.

Might be useful to note, that if you want the site to remember your choice to use classic no matter what device you are using, make the change in usercp. The drop menu option in the bottom left uses cookies, so it will only apply on the device you were on when you made the choice, and will persist if you clear cookies and cache

Do we need to start an Irreconcilable Differences thread on this subject?

Classic view is great. If it disappears it will be sadly missed.
